(1) Mound The substantial removal of an existing man made earth and stone mound sized approximately 300 metres x 150 metres and up to approximately 18 metres high and approximately 380,000 metres cubed located directly North of Fab 10 and Fab 14. (2) Yard The construction of a yard area housing site supporting functions, utilities and buildings sized 300 metres x 150 metres approximately on the site of the removed mound area, as further described hereunder. (i) Waste Water A waste water tank sized 51 metres by 33 metres and 12 metres high and a yard housing tanks and equipment. (ii) Balance Tank A site waste water (below grade) balance tank sized 35 metres x 25 metres. (iii) Air Separation Unit An Air Separation Unit (ASU) compound and associated 4 no. towers 43 metres high, cooling towers, associated equipment and a single storey compressor building sized 450 square metres and circa 25 metres high, and 2 no. single storey Electrical buildings sized 120 square metres gross and 7 metres high. (iv) Electrical Buildings 4 no. Electrical buildings, all elevated single storey buildings with a gross area of 648 square metres and 6 metres high. (v) Storage Tanks A yard area housing bulk storage tanks for liquid oxygen, waste solvent storage and hydrogen and their associated tanker unloading. (vi) Waste Water Holding Tanks A series of modular waste water holding tanks and associated equipment located in yards with connecting pipebridges. The proposed tanks range from 5 metres high to 20 metres high. (vii) Tanker and Truck Staging Yards A tanker and truck holding and staging yard sized circa 80 x 40 metres located to the North of the proposed development. (3)Site Works The proposed development includes linking pipe-bridges to the Fab 10, Fab 14 and Fab 24 support buildings, site development works and a surface water attenuation tank, site utilities, site lighting, separation walls, roads, landscaping and all associated site works. This application consists of a variation to a previously permitted development for an activity for which a licence under Part IV of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 (as amended by the Protection of the Environment Act 2003) is required. An Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and a Natura Impact Statement (NIS) accompany this application. ABP-304672-19 (Kildare County Council Ref. 19/91), including reconfigured site layout of the proposed structures and support plant. The proposed development comprises: Air Separation Units. The proposed development includes positional alterations to the 2no. permitted Air Separation Unit (ASU) compounds, associated towers and compressor buildings. Towers are circa 65 metres high and associated compounds including tanks and equipment are circa 45 metres high and compressor buildings are approximately 20m metres high, all located to the north of the existing Fab 14 building. The ASU compounds also comprise of 2no. compressor buildings each sized 765 square metres approximately and circa 20 metres high with roof mounted plant, equipment and storage and associated 1no. single storey electrical building sized 60 square metres approximately and circa 6 metres high with roof mounted equipment. additions, alterations and modification to existing/permitted industrial facilities. The proposed development comprises of the following: 1. An extension to plant and equipment associated with FAB 34 located on an existing/permitted concrete slab to the rear of FAB 34. The development also comprises a modification to the proposed Boiler and Chiller Building to facilitate this development reducing its enclosed area from 22,188 square metres to 19,208 square metres. 2. The proposed equipment comprises 9 no. holding and treatment tanks located in a sealed reinforced concrete bund sized 542 square metres approximately together with associated pumps, pipe bridges and equipment. The tanks vary in height from 5 metres to 9 metres approximately. 3. The permitted (ABP Ref. Pl. 09.304672-19 / KCC Reg. Ref. 1991) two storey Boiler and Chiller Building is reduced by 2,980 square metres approximately, including modifications to the existing elevations, relocated escape stairs and miscellaneous layout modifications. The height of the modified facility will match the existing building height at 24.5 metres. 4. The works also include modifications to site works, underground utilities, roof mounted equipment and site lighting and a louvred screen wall approximately 85 metres in length, as an extension to the existing 8.5-metre-high elevational screen located on top of the Boundary wall to the rear of the Boiler and Chiller Building. 5. Erection of 2 no. ground level, illuminated monument signs at the main east and west vehicular entrances to the site from the R148. Both signs are 1.5 metres high and 2.4 metres wide approximately. 6. Illumination (internally) of 1 no. replacement building sign to the south elevation of the IR6 Building. The sign is 1.4 metres high and 3.3 metres wide approximately and is mounted so that the top of the sign is approximately 0.5 metres below for the parapet level of IR6.
