The existing bridge on the Meelick Road will be widened. The scheme will be accessed from the Timahoe Road and the Meelick Road. Part 8 proposals for the improvement of these roads are being submitted to Laois County Council in parallel with this planning submission. The proposals are included in a Master Plan which includes the public road improvements, the housing, an eight classroom school in the south west corner of the site accessed from the Meelick Road and a creche/childcare facility for 100 children in the North East corner, accessed from the Timahoe Road. The scheme is divided into two phases - 232 dwellings in phase 1 and 160 in phase 2
