Permission for proposed development within the curtilage of Protected Structures, St. Mary's College (RPS No. D244 to D248 inclusive & D334), and includes the construction of: a new 2 storey 900 pupil Post Primary School building, comprising of 29 no. specialist classrooms, 21 no. general classrooms, P.E. Hall, General Purpose Hall, Kitchenette & Servery, Offices, Staff Areas, Sanitary and ancillary accommodation. Site works to include the demolition of existing handball alleys at the entrance to St Mary's College grounds. Proposed site works to include provision for 65 no. car parking spaces, including accessible parking via improved vehicular entrance and new exit to form an "In-Out" access from St. Mary's public road including pedestrian access and drop-off and pick-up facilities. New pedestrian access from Fairgreen Road. External works to include covered bicycle racks, formation of 5 no. ballcourts, G.A.A. playing pitch and training pitch and external storage yard with service access road and ancillary site engineering works. External play areas will not be floodlit. The overall site area will be landscaped with grass/ planted areas and complete with new sections of boundary treatment. Works will involve the very limited felling of existing trees. The ground level of the site will be raised locally to a maximum of 1.50m above existing as a flood prevention measure. Further site works include road improvement works to St. Mary's public road including a right hand turning lane and road markings. **Significant Further Information was received on 26/02/14 which amended the above description to include the relocation of the pedestrian crossing system to northern side of the school oneway system, the access road has been widened, the number of trees to be removed has been reduced to 3 no. and 2 no. new build ballcourts have been included |
