The development comprises upgrades to increase the capacity of the existing WwTP and consists of the following works: two new covered primary settlement tanks; new final (secondary) settlement tank; new sludge liquor buffer tank; new thickened sludge holding tank; new holding tank for alum sludge imports; additional centrifuge; replacement and refurbishment of screens, pumps and associated parts; application of covers to existing primary settlement tanks; upgrade of ventilation system and installation of odour control unit; provision of a containerised standby generator; construction of below ground storm attenuation tank; decommissioning of redundant sludge digestor tanks and related equipment; site access upgrades, and all ancillary landscaping and site development works above and below ground An Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and a Natura Impact Statement (NIS) have been prepared in respect of the proposed development and will be submitted to the planning authority with this application
