Development Description: Amendments to the development of a concrete products production facility on a 15.1 hectare site, approximately at the Lagan Cement Plant, Killaskillen and Cappaboggan, Killegad, Co Meath. The registered reference of the previously permitted scheme is TA/60581. The concrete products production area is located wholly within the existing Lagan Cement Works site. The proposed facility is bounded to the south by the existing cement plant, to the east by the main access road into the cement plan and to the west and north by the existing landscaping berm on the western side of the overall Lagan Cement Ltd. site. The development including amendments will consist of : a roof slate plant (17,704 sqm); a concrete pavers plant (4,194 sqm); a dry mortar plant (282 sqm); an administration building (348 sqm); a weighbridge and weighbridge office (29 sqm); a water settlement tank (325 sqm), an aggregate storage area (1130 sqm); and 2 no. aggregate hoppers. The roof slate plant provides for: a production and storage area ( 17,344 sqm); and an office and staff area (360 sqm). The concrete pavers plant provides for: a production area (3738 sqm); a maintenance workshop (116 sqm); office and staff areas (299 sqm) and a compressor room (41 sqm). The dry mortar plant includes: a mortar mixing building (160 sqm), 4 no. 25.65 high storage silos, and a sand dryer and mill (122 sqm). The administration building provides for: 3 no. offices totalling 81 sqm; a training room (39 sqm); a general storage area (13.4 sqm); a cleaner store (5.3 sqm); a laboratory store (12.3 sqm); toilets (11 sqm); locker are (6.9 sqm); and a laboratory (63 sqm).
