Proposed Development

Development Description: (a) Permission to reduce the ground level of existing lands (3.050 Ha) located to the west of the existing and permitted car dismantlers recycling centre depot by 1 metre and using this soil to construct planted grassed berms along the perimeter of the site on said lands to the west of existing and permitted car dismantlers recycling centre depot. Approximately 400mm of crushed stone will be placed on the reduced level lands to form a hardcore storage area for vehicles. (b) Permission to use the lowered lands described above as ancillary storage space for Pre-Categorised Vehicles (PCV’s), End of Life Vehicles with commercial value (ELV with CV) and End of Life Vehicles with no commercial value (ELV no CV). (c) Permission to increase the annual number of vehicles processed on site from 5500 to 12500 vehicles per annum. (d) Permission for the construction of a single storey industrial style side extension to the east of the existing and permitted car dismantlers recycling centre depot to be used for storage of recycled car parts for online distribution. (e) Permission to upgrade the existing secondary effluent treatment system at the existing location and to install a new soil polishing filter on additional lands located to the east of existing established and permitted facility. (f) Permission for the construction of a single storey stand alone, detached building to the east of existing and permitted car dismantlers recycling centre depot to be used for the recycling of electric/hybrid vehicle battery packs and all associated site works. The application is accompanied by an Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and the EIAR is available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during office hours at the offices of the planning authority.
