Permission to consist of alterations to the development of a Battery Storage Facility which was previously granted permission by Monaghan County Council (Planning Register 18/5). The development comprises the construction of a battery energy storage facility to include one single storey electrical compound, containerised battery storage modules on concrete support structures, electrical transformer/inverter station modules, electrical ducting, cable racking and cabling, access tracks, security fencing and CCTV security monitoring system, lighting protection poles, communications equipment and ancillary infrastructure. The alterations to the original permission include an amended application site boundary of 1.474Ha, a reduction in the number of containerised battery modules from 58 down to 10, reduction in the number of associated inverters and transformers, new internal road configuration, reconfiguration and reorientation of the control building, additional ancillary electrical infrastructure, regrading of site levels to accommodate excess soils arising from excavation works, a landscape berm and other enabling works

permission for a development consisting of the installation of additional electrical equipment in the ESB substation to facilitate the connection of the Battery Storage Facility (Planning Ref 18/5) including a 110kV busbar extension, a 110kV transformer bay and a 110kV coupler bay, the installation of approx. 185m of 110kV underground ducting and cables between the ESB substation and the Battery Storage Site, the erection of palisade fencing around the 110kV cable route between the two sites, and the extension of the existing access road due to the installation of the 110kV cable and palisade fencing

This will include a 100k V Busbar extension, a 110k V transformer bat and a 110kV coupler bay (a previously granted under Planning Ref 20/143). The extension of the existing ESB substation control building to facilitate the new connection. The installation of approx. 210m of 110kV underground ducting cables between the ESB substation and the battery storage site. The extension of the existing access road and all associated ancillary infrastructure required for the project.
