No alterations will be made to the western elevation. The existing tower on the roof at the west of the dev. will be refurbished and clad in metal panels. Dev. will also include: the partial demolition of an existing shed and the complete demolition of an existing stone wall at the west of the Gaol Rd entrance, existing office strucutre, existing silo and existing tanks, the construction fo a two storey building with a total gross floor space of 7,897 sqm, comprising a shopping centre and 322 No. surface car parking spaces. Vehicular and pedestrian access will be provided from Gaol Rd and pedestrian, plant maintenance and emergency vehicle access will be provided from Malt Vale/Air Hill Rd. The dev. will include the provision of vehicular (customer and service) and pedestrian (including disabled) access. The proposal provides for the continued use and minor modification of the existing access/egress to/from Gaol Rd to the proposed surface level car parking area, the continued use of the ESB access and a new emergency, plant room maintenance and pedestrian access from the adjoining Malt Vale/Airhill Rd.
